When Elly came home from the hospital she had black curly hair – it’s not as black as it used to be but when I leave it after a bath like I did last night you can see it just as curly. Just like her Grandpa’s.

Last week I turned 27! The day before my birthday I had to go and get my drivers license renewed and get a new picture taken. After I came home I started to feel sad about getting old and not looking as young as I used to – so I decided to pull out some pictures of myself from 2003. Let’s just say I feel much better about my self now and a little worse about myself then.

Elly’s first Christmas, I didn’t think that it would be that much different with Elly this year since she is so young and does not really get what Santa or presents are yet. But I was wrong, she was thrilled tearing off the wrapping paper and playing with new toys and Jesse and I were even more thrilled to watch her.
We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day at my Parents house then went to Jesse’s parent’s house on Boxing Day. I would say that it was that it was the best Christmas since I was a little girl.
In the middle of January Elly tried oatmeal cereal for the first time – she wasn’t too sure about it at first but now she loves to eat and Jesse and I cannot eat around her without her reaching for our food with her mouth wide open and a look of disbelief that mom and dad are not going to share.
We ended off January with her first cold, honestly it was horrible. Elly could not keep anything down and she was so stuffed up. I felt so bad for her and never left her side for two weeks straight. We slept together (ok she slept I held her) tried to clean the house together, cooked together but mostly we just sat on the couch and cuddled. Thankfully the she was feeling much better after a couple of weeks and was back to herself and trying to grab at everything she could get her hands on.
Now it is already February and life is feeling a little back to normal but life is more fun then ever and Jesse and I cannot believe how fast time goes by and how much our little baby has grown.

The other night I had a jewellery party. Not really something I like to do but I got excited at the thought that I could get some beautiful jewellery for half price by just throwing a party, so….I threw a party. It ended up being a lot of fun and I really enjoyed preparing for it. I made mini desserts in shot glasses, I stole the idea from the Keg but it ended up being the perfect treat for a girl’s night out.

I cannot believe how much I LOVE being a mom, and if anyone didn’t notice I am VERY PROUD of my little angel Elly. I love every moment that I get to spend with her. Everyone always says that being a mom is great but I really did not believe that it could be this wonderful – I am obsessed with every sound she makes, every little smile she gives and I just want to give her hugs and kisses all day.
But on those days when I feel extremely busy and I don’t get to give her all of the attention I would like, she is often happy to sit close to me in her Bumbo watching me cook, clean, wash dishes or do what ever it is that I need to do. I feel so lucky to have such a great girl.
