This is amazing

Elly has been asleep since 8:30 last night.  Ok she woke up once at 11:30pm but I put her soother back in and she fell right back to sleep.  Now I have been up since 5am waiting for her but she is still sleeping….not that I am complaining.

Two weeks ago she was waking up every 2 hours, and of course because I was so exhausted I would just feed her and then put her back into bed.  So last week I started to give her solids right before I put her to bed and then only allow my self to feed her once between 8pm and 6am so any time that she woke up I would give her her soother and usually cradle her back to sleep…. It was a long week but hopefully last night was a sign that it is going to pay off and we will all start to get some good sleep on a regular basis.

This is embarrassing….

Last week I turned 27! The day before my birthday I had to go and get my drivers license renewed and get a new picture taken. After I came home I started to feel sad about getting old and not looking as young as I used to – so I decided to pull out some pictures of myself from 2003. Let’s just say I feel much better about my self now and a little worse about myself then.

I really need to learn how to post on a regular basis but until I do you will have to forgive me again for this catch up post -

Early December Elly got her first tooth – she was a trouper and really toughed out those sore gums.

Elly’s first Christmas, I didn’t think that it would be that much different with Elly this year since she is so young and does not really get what Santa or presents are yet. But I was wrong, she was thrilled tearing off the wrapping paper and playing with new toys and Jesse and I were even more thrilled to watch her.

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day at my Parents house then went to Jesse’s parent’s house on Boxing Day. I would say that it was that it was the best Christmas since I was a little girl.

In the middle of January Elly tried oatmeal cereal for the first time – she wasn’t too sure about it at first but now she loves to eat and Jesse and I cannot eat around her without her reaching for our food with her mouth wide open and a look of disbelief that mom and dad are not going to share.

We ended off January with her first cold, honestly it was horrible. Elly could not keep anything down and she was so stuffed up. I felt so bad for her and never left her side for two weeks straight. We slept together (ok she slept I held her) tried to clean the house together, cooked together but mostly we just sat on the couch and cuddled. Thankfully the she was feeling much better after a couple of weeks and was back to herself and trying to grab at everything she could get her hands on.

Now it is already February and life is feeling a little back to normal but life is more fun then ever and Jesse and I cannot believe how fast time goes by and how much our little baby has grown.
